She lures students in with her enthusiasm, warmth, knowledge, and compassion. Standing in the hallway with Julie is like standing with a celebrity. The students flock to her giving her hugs, telling her about their accomplishments, what they did, why they did it, and what they learned. These students could observe and teach teachers – if they have worked with Julie it is clear they are better for it. They are curious, systematic, thorough, intrigued, persevering, accountable, always sharing how they had a growth mindset, and they are proud of the process. I cannot imagine a higher success barometer than that for any teacher.
