We offer both in-person and online learning platforms. Our therapists evaluate your student’s needs and devise an educational plan tailored to address any academic learning gaps. Sessions last 30 or 60 minutes.
We use multisensory support to help students in reading, writing, and mathematics. Our middle and high school phonics lessons use fast-paced instruction (in-person or online) and grade-level content.
Our educators utilize diagnostic evaluations and current evidence-based instruction techniques to steer students’ academic achievement. We begin the evaluation with the child and their caregivers and gather background data such as early developmental history, family history, medical history, family history of learning disorders, academic history, social history, and other background components that may impact our conceptualization. We assess for academic achievement (via academic achievement tests such as the WIAT-III, WRAT, and/or KTEA-III) to determine if there is a pattern of academic deficits present that is indicative of a specific learning disorder. This evaluation can take anywhere from three to six hours to complete. We will provide multiple breaks to prevent fatigue and to provide encouragement to complete this assessment.

Advocates help parents with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate the special education process. They ensure families know their rights and understand the complex evaluations and IEP reports. With their expertise, parents can better understand the state and federal laws that support their children and advocate for their needs. In addition to providing parents with valuable information, advocates also offer practical help. They review special education documents to ensure accuracy and completion and assist with developing effective accommodations that promote student equity. They also educate families on the various services available to identified students and offer support in preparing for and attending IEP/504 meetings. Sometimes, an advocate may refer a family to a special education attorney. This step is usually taken when the situation has escalated, and legal action may be necessary. By working closely with parents, advocates can identify when legal intervention may be needed and provide appropriate referrals. Overall, a special education advocate serves as a valuable resource for parents and helps to create a more inclusive and supportive community for students with special needs.
